Transportation services are provided through the Center to all Senior Center registered members who are North Providence residents, handicapped and disabled adults.

Transportation reservations must be made before 1:00 PM for the following day. You may contact the Receptionist at 231-0742 to arrange for your transportation reservation. Thank you.

The Following Fares Are Effective As Of November 3, 2008 For All Individuals Accessing Our Transportation Services: A $1.00 Per Round Trip Rider Fare For Any North Providence Resident (60 years of age or older or has a disability and has no other available means of transportation)

Accessing Our Agency’s Transportation Services To And From The Senior Center To Attend A Center Sponsored Class/Presentation/ Recreation Event or SMRAC Hairdresser.

A $1.00 Per Round Trip Rider Fare For Any North Providence Resident Accessing Our Agency’s Daily Nutrition Site Through Our Agency’s Or Town’s Nutrition Van.

A $2.00 Per Round Trip Rider Fare For Any North Providence Resident Accessing Our Agency’s Transportation Services For Weekly Grocery Shopping, Banking, Nursing Homes.

All fares will be paid when boarding the van and must be paid with exact cash. Thank you for your cooperation!

** Transportation services are provided to any North Providence resident 60 years of age or older, or has a disability, and has no other available means of transportation.**


Following is a list of transportation services available:

Center Run                                                         8:00 a.m.  &  10:00 a.m.
(Transportation to the Center)                      $1.00 (round trip)

Center Run                                                        11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  & 2:30 p.m.
(Transportation home from Center)           $1.00 (if not paid on a.m. run)

 Wednesday Evening Bingo                    4:30 p.m. pick-up;  9:00 p.m. return

Shaw’s Market                                                 Mon., Tues., Wed. – 9:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m.
Admiral Plaza                                                  1 hour for shopping, 4 grocery bags  Donation: $2.00                                                

*(Assigned days for pick up varies on location – Charles Street Manor and Private Homes on Mondays; Mineral Spring Avenue complexes on Tuesdays; Douglas Avenue complexes on Wednesdays)

Shores Market                                                 Thursdays & Fridays:  9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m
Mineral Spring Avenue                            1 hour for shopping, 4 grocery bags  Donation:  $2.00 

*Bus Driver is allowed to leave shopping bags at curbside.

Citizens Bank                                                    Fridays, 2:00 p.m.
Donation:  $2.00 round trip

Nursing Home Visits                                 Within a five mile radius of the Center
Donation:  $2.00 round trip                         Includes:  Golden Crest, Heritage Hills, Hopkins Manor

Hairdressers: Due to the heavy demand on our transportation system, we no longer provide transportation to hair salons. Transportation will be provided to our on-site hair salon. If you wish to make an appointment with our on-site hair salon, please phone the Receptionist at 231-0742. Thank you for your understanding.

 

RIDE/LOGISTICARE Programs

Transportation services are also provided through the RIDE Program. RIDE Program transports clients to Senior Center Nutrition Site and personal medical appointments within an 8 mile radius of Senior Center.   RIDE reservations for Senior Center Nutrition Program may be made with the Senior Center’s Nutrition Site Coordinator at 231-0742.  RIDE ADA reservations for medical appointments must be made directly through RIDE at 461-9760.  For all other reservations, contact LogistiCare at 1-855-330-9133.

Effective 10/1/08, RIDE passengers travelling under DEA approval will pay $2.00 for each one way trip.  Exception:  DEA passengers on Medicaid will not be charged a fee.
